DENTAL EQUIPMENT
The County of Uspantan, Guatemala, has no professional dentists to provide care for its
more than 45,000 residents. This means that most people never receive dental care.
The local hospital has only a small dental clinic staffed by a Guatemalan dental
student doing an internship. They lack equipment and supplies.
In 2007 UbF received donations from New Mexico dentists which provided the clinic
with a portable dental chair, an air compressor, a cabitron ultrasound, a photocuring
lamp and an autoclave. UbF supports the dental clinic on an ongoing basis. UbF
welcomes dentists who may want to volunteer their services in this remote area of
Guatemala as well as new or used dental equipment.
